since the software version is the same for both the regular tivo s2 and the tivo s2 dt, i was wondering if we could simply swap the drives to do an upgrade. my dt is freezing and rebooting intermittently even though i upgraded to a brand new drive when i first got it. from reading most threads about freezing and reboots, it sounds like a hard drive problem (frustrating since the drive is brand new).
in the mean time, my older s2 had also been upgraded for much longer and has no problems. it also has a larger drive than the dt.
i was thinking i could simply swap the drives, and return the problem drive for a replacement.
