It's been a while since I've owned a TiVo. The SA 8300 had an area where you could check your disk space. I can't find one on the Series 3. No such animal?

you cant check disk space ...... tivo still hasnt added that option ...... maybe one day

When the suggestions dissapear from the bottom of the list, you're full.

Took me just under a week recording just prime time - lol.

That's right, I knew there was some way to know when you were getting low.

Better yet make sure that folders are on and when the number next to the suggestion folder gets small you are running low on space.

Otherwise, the suggestions just get piled up at the bottom of the Now Playing list, and it is harder to count them.

I don't use let suggestions record I just look at them. I still don't understand what "folders on" is. Sorry for the ignorance, I think the last TiVo version I had which was a D-TiVo was 3.5.

wow tivo doesnt have any kind of diskspace indicator? I wonder why? Even my comcast dvr has one.

I think it's on the "What's on TiVo" screen that you press enter to set up viewing options. One option is to organize your programs into folders. Try it!

I still don't understand what "folders on" is. They're groups not folders - hit Enter while in Now Playing.

To check free disk space on your TiVo, remove the drive from the TiVo. Add it as a secondary drive to a linux system, then boot linux up. Run the df command to check for free space on disk sdb and you're good to go!

Either that method or wait 10 years for TiVo to implement that feature. :up:
