DRT800 won't record 2 programs on a DVD

my DRT800 won't record 2 programs on a DVD or a 'part 2 of 2' disc from the wishlist, I get a 'saving failed' message. I can record single programs (2 hours or less in length, at high quality) but not multiple-disc and multiple programs onto 1 disc.

Have you tried restarting the TiVo? This usually helps.

Yes, numerous times. Weaknees suggested that it might be a HD/burner issue but I suspect that maybe software problems might be the issue. I use a refurbished DRT800 that Humax sent after returning my initial DRT800 to Humax that crapped out.
Maybe the refurb is bad...

the simplest things are usually the solution; used a disc cleaner and so far, the problem has been dissolved away! my, my, better check the fluid levels in my car...
