Hi,

Just set up my replacement (movers broke first one) TiVo. It's an 80-hour DT series 2.

I've got everything connected properly (amazing) but I am not getting any audio from the digital channels (above 99).

Any suggestions??? Thanks in advance.

How is your TiVo connected to the cable box and to the cable source?

Describe the cables you're using, what they're connected to (how the connections are labeled), etc.

Wow - I'm not that tech savvy. I used the standard set up for digital cable box - no DVD or VCR connected. I have some red/blue/green cables in addition to the red/yellow/white...

You need to make sure you split your composite red/white audio wires from the cable box to Tivo and A/V receiver or TV.

dirtypacman,

If you have a minute, could you please run down the set up for me? I've seen your previous posts and it looks like you know your stuff.

It's a miracle I got it all hooked up this far... Our TV has cables I don't even know about (blue? green?). I'm all confused.

Thanks in advance! :)

Blue/Green/Red is for a Component Connection... usually HD receiver, cable box, or DVD player.

What you want to do is similar to this set up example:

http://customersupport.tivo.com/knowbase/root/public/tv251122.htm?

On Step 3 you see Red/White/Yellow - composite wires- The red and white are your Audio connection .. Yellow is for Video... So split the red/white cables coming out of your Cable box (you can buy a splitter at radio shack, tweeter, best buy, circuit city, etc.) One set should go direct to the Tivo the other set should go to either the TV or A/V receiver. Make sure to use Tivo out via composite Red/White to TV or A/V receiver also (diagram 6).

This will assure you have audio/video on Tuner 1 via Coaxial cable. And on Tuner 2 audio/video via composite cable.

(another setup example showing A/V reciever in the mix : http://customersupport.tivo.com/knowbase/root/public/tv251124.htm? )

I hope this makes sense I only had a moment to review in my head.. back to work.

Thank you! I will try this. Kids due off the school bus shortly, so can't start now...

I appreciate your time and will let you know how it all turns out. Wish I was a little more tech-savvy...
