I came across this article the other day and I thought I would share it with you guys. It summarizes plans for the Motorola MOXI DVR to include a CableCard 2.0 compatiple slot. It will be on display during the next CES.

Sounds to me like the article was confusing Multistream cards with 2.0 cards. I emailed the author of the article yesterday stating this and this was his reply:
"You are probably right. As the projected launch date of the box in
discussion was fall 2007, I think the issue of adding bi-directional
multistream capabilities was hopeful optimism. I expect more definitive
specs at the CES unveiling."

The CableCARD 2.0 spec is hardware complete, so it's entirely possible for a new product to come out that's CableCARD 2.0 ready. However until the software side is finalized and the spec is actually deployed in the field that extra hardware is just dead weight. And that may never happen if the MSOs get that extension they're pushing for.

Great, now Moxi just has to come up with a DVR that isn't a steaming pile of crap to go with their cable card readiness.
