Tivo Remote Codes???

I was just trying to program my Tivo remote and none of the remote codes work for my Sony receiver. I tried every one on the list and none worked. I'm a bit of a noob so I'm not sure if this is the right area to ask this type of question, but needed to know if there were other cases like this or what.

My receiver's model number is STR-K850P.

I hope someone can help me out...this will allow me to use my Tivo remote as the primary unit that I use for my whole set up. Thanks in advance! :up:

The only way the sony codes in the tivo remote will control your receiver, is if and only if you can switch the codeset your receiver responds to, from AV2 to AV1. see this thread. (www.remotecentral.com/cgi-bin/mboard/rc-sony/thread.cgi?4020)

I'm trying to program my TiVo remote to operate a ViewSonic LCD tv. ViewSonic is not listed in the TiVo menu listings. And the support people at ViewSonic were no help. Anybody out there have the codes or any suggestions?

The auto-program feature failed, also.

Any one get any answers on a possible Viewsonic remote code for TiVo?

Same boat here. I was able to "teach" the S3 remote the codes from the Viewsonic remote, but the power button only works to turn the TV off. If it's already off, the power button on the TiVo remote won't turn the TV on. This doesn't make any sense since the Viewsonic remote only has a single power button for on and off.
