problem copying files

I am trying to upgrade from a zippered 120Gig to a new 300gig drive.

I have tried: mfsbackup -Tao - /dev/hdd | mfsrestore -s 127 -xzpi - /dev/hda

I get a message:
Restore failed: Backup target not large enough for entire backup by itself.

Any advice?

I don't think you can expand an already expanded Tivo and keep your shows...

maybe someone more knowledgeable than me will either explain why or tell me I'm wrong.
