My HD tivo seems to loose the sats pretty easily now, even during a rain shower.

I went into the signal strengths and one sat hits mostly in the upper 80s, the second sat is mostly 70-80, and the last sat is mostly in the 50s-60s.

I am pretty sure all three were in the 90s after the original install 14 months ago.

Is the aiming of the dish covered by any kind of warranty? Would Directv send someone out if I called retention?

Also, I have a very crappy antenna right now for the HD locals. The original installer did not install an antenna nor did they offer one. I think I've read where some of you have gotten deals where Directv had the contractor install an antenna when they did the dish. Is is unreasonable to ask Directv for help with this?

TIA

I know they would come out if you had the protection plan. I first bought the protection plan when I had a bad multiswith and misaligned dish. They brought me a new multiswitch and realigned my dish. This was probably 5 years ago. I have since had them out to realign again, and replaced a bad non TIVO HD receiver.

They'll come out ...but they'll probably charge you $75, unless you have some good-guy credits that they can use to offset the charge.
