I live in Green Bay, WI. DirecTV in may announced Green Bay HD locals would be be comming this fall. They even put it on their website for a October release. Now all of a sudden Green Bay, WI and a few others are gone like a fart in the wind. What gives? DirecTV doesn't have an answer other than "You'll have them in Fall 2006".
Can anyone give me a better answer then that?

When you say they are gone, do you mean you lost the SD versions? I'd still call and ask for a supervisor at DirecTV.

No, Green Bay, WI and other cities are no longer listed on DirecTV's site with a projected release date as to before the website said October 2006. I get SD but my HD reception in Green Bay, WI is bad. I even recently moved and the signal is still bad OTA so I want at least one of my HD tv's to have locals in HD.

I _think_ the OP was referring to a previous listing at D*.com that had various cities listed for HD lil rollouts during a particular month. I know that Las Vegas had been listed as starting in September, but now the same site lists Las Vegas and other cities as "this fall" or something to that effect. There had been a group of cities listed for September and some listed for October. Now all of them are grouped as starting "this fall."
Rick (hoping for HD locals soon)

Yes this is exactly what I am refering to. My sister is in Henderson, NV too. At least LV is still listed. To bad DirecTV spot beams or I would just use her address.

Viper,
I have to change my ID. I moved from Henderson about 2 months ago. We went "over the hump" and now live in Pahrump which is about 60 miles west of LV. Unfortunately, because of some inconsiderately located mountains, we are now unable to get HD OAR like we could in Henderson. So we are anxiously waiting for HD LIL so we can resume recording HD networks on our HR20. It is almost painful to watch some programming in SD. We watched most of the US Open in HD on channel 75 (UHD?) but the finals were on CBS which we had to watch in SD. The picture quality was almost enough to make me tear my eyes out!
Some other SD network programs are not quite as bad, but we were really spoiled watching HD networks in Henderson on our HR10-250.
By the way, we haven't seen any Packer games broadcast out here yet this season, but given what they've done so far, it's probably better for our overall morale that we haven't seen them.

I've checked our systems here at work and they also say Fall of 2006. Agreements may have been set back so instead of continually giving info that may not be exact they've changed it to display a time frame that allows more time if it is set back.

A guy I talked to in the retension department today pointed me out to DirecTV's website. Milwaukee has HD locals via satellite. He said I could update my address there to give me HD locals via satellite out of Milwaukee (3 hours a way). That would mean even my SD locals would be out of Milwaukee.
I have a new 5 LNB dish and a HR-20. I could still use my HR10-250 and an OTA for Green Bay locals in the bedroom. Maybe they will come in better in the bedroom. More love in there. hehe

That's great that our retention department is encouraging illegal behavior.

Well now I think I have things working. I had to call tech support again. Apparently I didn't need a 6X8 multiswich (which was bad). Tech support told me to go back to the 4X8.
Also I have really bad signal strength now. I used to get high 80's now I only get mid to high 70's. Is this common with the 5 LNB dish or did my installer just not take the time to allign it better?
