I checked the hard drive with pwrmaxen 4 tests passed them all. When I channel up
or dwn it just keeps going, press select and it stops. In the guide it does the same thing. Any help with this would be appreciated.
THANKS

The manufacturer drive tests are pretty much worthless. Nevertheless, the problem you're having is not disk related. I have heard of this symptom before, but not on a DTiVo. What software version is yours running? Have you tried replacing the batteries in the remote?

Software 3.1
I changed batteries, channels continue to run.

There could be IR interference in the room. What happens if you block the IR sensor on the TiVo while the channels are running?

As soon as I got the channels to run Wife held a book in front of the eye and
channels continued to run.

If you don't use the remote at all and just use the front panel buttons (for channel up/down) what happens?

The Menu & Guide buttons were stuck closed, removed them from board,
now t60 works great. I'll try to buy those and install them.
THANKS for all of your suggestions.

Sony no longer has those parts. Q does anyone know where to get parts
for the T60?
THANKS

What parts? You can get a power supply from www.weaknees.com, and a disk drive anywhere. If something else breaks, it's probably cheaper to get a new box.

What do you mean by the buttons were stuck closed - on the remote or on the front panel? I am having the same problem on my sat-t60 and it has followed me from the 3.1 to the 3.5 upgrade.

Thanks

Yes, the Sony T-60 is a series 1 DirecTiVo.

The menu & guide switches on the front of unit were stuck in the on
position, so nothing worked right.

I need the menu & guide switches.

Sorry I did not get back to you I just saw you PM tonight...

You can try to get a dead unit off eBay or get a look at the switch and see if there is a part number printed on the switch. Then Google the part number or unsolder one of the switches and run by your local radio shack and see if they have something comparable.

Good luck,
mark

I had to unsolder the switches to get the unit to work, they are really
small about 3.5 mm h 5mm in dia, I checked in the Digi-key catalog
nothing that small. I thought about ebay, I have been checking there.
I'll try Radio Shack.

I never use the buttons on the front of my machine, so it is odd that those buttons are malfunctioning. It would appear from what you said that you didn't use them much either. hmmmm...
