I had added a season pass on my shiny new S3 to record the series premier of Shark on WCBS-DT (the OTA version). When I scheduled it it was in my ToDo list. Last night as I was watching a previously recorded program on the S3, I looked at the box at about 10:03 PM ET and noticed that the front panel indicated it was only recording one program (ER). So I went to the ToDo list and recording history and saw this for Shark :" The DVR was unable to record the previously scheduled program due to an internal error..."

Additionally the message says if this occurs again, restart the DVR. All I can find on TiVo support about this is a note that says this is a rare event.

On my Series 2 boxes, I think I can recall seeing this happen once over a few years. To get it within the first week on the S3 is a bit of a concern.

Anyone else see this yet?

Yes, the same thing happened on our S3 last night for "ER", which has a Season Pass and was in the To Do List but never recorded. The "View Recording History" screen showed the same message about an internal error. I have never seen this before on any of our other TiVos.

Just got this last week on Studio 60 (HD). Anyone else?

I got that with "Studio 60" on Jan. 22 (HD). Weird, because it had recorded "Heroes" on NBC immediately before, so there wasn't a problem with the channel.

Same here (Heroes recorded fine), different date (29th). I've had signal issues with that channel but get a blank recording. Internal error indicates something else, and I have not found much on this forum in regards to it.

Had it been "Heroes," I would've been furious. Since it was the wildly uneven "Studio 60," I shrugged it off. Has anybody called TiVo to report it? I didn't, although I should have, I suppose, to get it documented.

I had it occur for the first time Friday night, when "Super Bowl's Greatest Commercials" on CBS was dropped. The only thing unusual was that the beginning of this show was going to be clipped due to overlap with something else. FWIW, I haven't had anything else scheduled that needed to be clipped (only had my S3 about a month)

Huh. I had no clipping conflicts. I suppose I'll forget about it (until it happens again).

My S3 rebooted itself on 1/22 Studio 60 recording on HD. Heroes just before Studio 60 recorded fine. Then when Studio 60 started, it rebooted, missing the first 11 min of Studio 60 (I think it rebooted twice), but recorded the rest of the Studio 60 episode fine. I'm using Comcast cable here in the Bay Area.

Edit, Studio 60 on 1/29 was fine for me. I don't have any other higher priority shows than Heroes and Studio 60 on Mon evening, and have not scheduled any overlap between the two shows.

Hey I had this same problem with ER this past thursday (2/1/07). The TiVo gave me an error when I tried to play the show it had recorded.
