Does anyone know if series 3 will be able to work with Iptv, in the future?

The S3 is a CableCARD device. So unless your IPTV provider supports CableCARDs the answer is no. (Verizon FiOS does, AT&T IPTV does not)

"IPTV" encompasses a large number of varying implementations and there's likely several which would be possible to support with the existing Series 3 hardware; whether or not it will is something only TiVo could say.

Actually FIOS is Cable over fibre. The same range of NTSC and QAM siganls that your Cable co sends over COAX are modulated onto fiber and demodulated back on to coax at the premises. FIOS may also deliver some IPTV but only for VOD and PPV.

There's probably enough hardware in an S3 to recieve ATT U'verse but ATT would have to colaborate with Tivo to provide the necessary software.

Since the S3 has an Ethernet port, and fully supports networking, as well as having the hardware to decode MPEG-2, MPEG-4 AVC/H.264, and VC-1/WM9, it could probably be made to support IPTV with a software update.

If you are asking about IPTV STBs, no, the S2 is for that.
