I am awaiting delivery of a NIB HR10-250 purchased from a third party via the internet. Does anyone know if it will have an access card included that can be activated by calling DirecTv or will I need to have one sent to me by DirecTv? Alternatively, I have a SD Hughes DirecTivo now, so would that access card work in the HR10?

If it's REALLY NIB, it should have one.
If not, yes you could use the one out of your SD Hughes, but you would need to call D* have them remarry the card to your new receiver.
(BTW - if you do it like this, then D* won't hit you up for another 2-year comittment ;) )

Why not ask the seller? Most of us don't have crystal balls that would enable us to answer your question.

Fair question. Here is the answer. Unfortunately, I tried emailing the vendor but the emails were being returned as undeliverable. I became a little nervous thinking perhaps I was a victim of fraud. I originally found the vendor through Price Grabber Storefronts. I emailed my concerns to Price Grabber and they responded with a phone number for the vendor. After holding on the phone for awhile and multiple transfers, I was able to confirm that my order (the HR10) had already shipped and I was given a valid tracking number. I was so relieved that I was not scammed I forgot to ask about the access card! So, I thought I would ask the members of the Tivo Community forum rather than sit on hold again and endure multiple transfers. Someone always seems to know the answer to a question here.
