"You're looking at now, sir. What's happening now is happening now."
"What happened to then?"
"We passed then."
"What? Rewind, go back to then!"
"We can't."
"Why not?"
"We missed it."
"When?"
"Just now."
"When will then be now?"
"Soon."

First thoughts: "Hey cool, a Spaceballs series"
After reading the article: "Oh, it's on G4. Never mind."

Dark Helmet: Before you die there is something you should know about us, Lone Star.
Lone Starr: What?
Dark Helmet: I am your father's brother's nephew's cousin's former roommate.
Lone Starr: What's that make us?
Dark Helmet: Absolutely nothing!

Remember: Sci-Fi carries both Mansquito and Battlestar Galactica. Diamonds do exist in the rough, though sometimes hard to spot.

I will try it out if it is full-screen. I did like the way they showed Thunderbirds with added information in captions.

SANDURZ opens the door behind him.
SANDURZ Lord Helmet.
HELMET (holds all the dolls out of Sandurz's sight) What?
SANDURZ You're needed on the bridge, sir.
HELMET Knock on my door. Knock next time.
SANDURZ Yes, sir.
HELMET Did you see anything?
SANDURZ No, sir. I didn't see you playing with your dolls again.
HELMET Good.

HELMET (lifts up mask) Careful, you idiot. I said across her nose,
not up it.
GUNNER (lifts up eye guard) Sorry, sir. (he is cross-eyed) Doing my
best.
HELMET Who made that man a gunner?
MAJOR I did, sir. He's my cousin. (he is cross-eyed, too)
HELMET Who is he?
SANDURZ He's an *********, sir.
HELMET I know that. What's his name?
SANDURZ That is his name, sir. *********, Major *********.
HELMET And his cousin?
SANDURZ He's an *********, too, sir. Gunner's-mate, 1st Class, Philip
*********.
HELMET How many *********s we got on this ship, anyhow?
All, but few, stand up.
ALL Yo!
HELMET I knew it. I'm surrounded by *********s. (pulls down mask) Keep
firing, *********s.

I watched this Sunday the 21st of September, 2008.
Was this as horrible as I thought it was or am I just the wrong demographic?
I made it through the first 15 minutes of the first episode, then deleted the whole thing and removed the SP.
It just wasn't funny.

Speaking of the original movie, I just saw it again the other day and recognized Stephen Tobolowsky in a very small but vital role. That's all I have. I had completely forgotten about this thread (two years is a long time). Anyway, I didn't hear anything about it on Sci-Fi or any place else. Where did it air? What channel?

I did make it through the first episode but I'm with you and thought it was pure crap. It had nothing to do with the movie (which I suppose is fine, but I have no idea who they're going after if not fans of the movie).

It took place in the same universe, I guess. It had some of the same sort of humor.

Sanders: Make the jump to light speed.
Helmet: No, no, light speed's too slow.
Sanders: Light speed too slow?
Helmet: That right, we have to go straight to . . . ludicrous speed.
All: Gasp!
Sanders: Sir, we've never gone that fast before. I'm not sure this ship can take it.
Helmet: What's the matter Cournal Sanders? Chicken?
Sanders into PA system (voice squeaking nervously): Prepare ship . . . [clears throat]
Sanders into PA system (voice more composed): Prepare ship for ludicrous speed!

I just downloaded the Pilot from ITunes for free. I haven't watched it all yet, but it seems to be a complete remake of the movie in animated form, almost shot for shot.
What ya'll watching?
