I said to my gf, three minutes into the episode, "Is this the third episode? It's not looking good..."

But I'll have to say I was pleasantly surprised after that. This episode picked it up some. It's still not great, but as long as I can see the actors growing into their characters and making progress, that's alright with me.

In reality, this is the first episode where I really cared.

The whole blown case, kidnapping the father thing was kind of dumb, but I'm willing to suspend my disbelief for Ron Livingston. I like pretty much every character I've ever seen him in...

I was certain throughout the episode that it was all an elaborate scheme by the justice department and FBI to get the guy to confess or rat on others. Was pleasantly surprised when I was wrong.

For a bit I thought it was going to be an elaborate scheme by the organized crime guys to force the government to react if the sat phone was being tapped.

Sort of a way to see if they were being monitored before some big operation, and also hopefully compromise any case the government might have by making them tip their hand.

(Ok, shooting the driver would be a bit extreme if it was just a fakeout; but not totally impossible)

I'm still enjoying the show a lot. I hope it lasts and doesn't find an early exit or lose the audience completely once the baseball playoffs start up and everything takes the break on the schedule. :(
