I got this from a board where they don't believe in citing their sources (i.e., linking to the original story), but it looks like in addition to the 8 episodes remaining for Season 3, there will now be a 12-episode Season 4. The story they quoted looked real.

The network has ordered 12 new episodes of the show.HBO hasn't set a firm timetable for the fourth season.
