DTV Tivo...use with cable?

I have an older (2-3 years) Direct TV Tivo (40 hour) that I do not use anymore. I was wondering if it was possible to use it with cable? Will it work, or not?

It will not work.

It will only work as a pass-through when on Standby. You can only record DTV sigals, no cable or OTA, etc. You can watch any recordings that are already on there.
