hello

the other day i went out and got me a new duel tuner 80 hr tivo TCD649080
i then went out and got me 2 500 gig drives hopeing that this unit had 2 brackets wich it dont so il be using the one drive for now.

well after all night and morning tryg to get this to work out right ive pretty much am stuck here and am looking for help or a how to if any one is willing to help me that be awsome

heres the problem i used that new mfs tools for drives larger then 137gig and i used the hinsdale how to for the command lines

mfsbackup -Tao - /dev/hdc | mfsrestore -s 127 -xzpi - /dev/hda

after that was all done it showed the correct drive size saying it is 500++ hrs on it now wich is awsome im thinking hehe

well i loaded it into tivo and started her up and well im getting that green screen and rebooting

i looked deeper in these forums about i needed to up the swap file size and noticed that i needed to change the command one said to have it set at 256 so i thought of trying that but did it with 300 seeing they used a 250 gig drive looked liked.

so i did this command just to give a lil extra room

mfsbackup -Tao - /dev/hdc | mfsrestore -s 300 -xzpi - /dev/hda

and well im still getting the same green screen and prety much left it there. got work tonight. but anyways um

im hopeing some one out there knows how to work around this maybe know the right command lines to implament it or what ever is needed with easy understanding im not a linux pro im aminly a copey and past kinda guy here hehe and follow instructions on how toos if there easly understandable

thanks for your time

The WeaKnees instructions (http://tivo.upgrade-instructions.com) work better for large hard drives what you are missing is the -r 4 option in the restore. mfsbackup -Tao - /dev/hdc | mfsrestore -s 127 -r 4 -xzpi - /dev/hda

If you use a value larger then 127 for the swap partition the headers need to be adjusted with tpip for use in your TiVo.
