I want to buy a second Series 2 DT dvr. Can I order the series 2 direct from tivo and not have to deal with using the $150 rebate? I dont see any option on their site for the MSD since I already have one tivo. They show the Series2 DT for $30 but dont show how to sign up to get MSD. I tried calling Tivo but the automated attendant hung up on me 3 times...
If you're talking about the TiVo Packages (box fee + higher monthly fee) those are not eligible for MSD. You may buy as many packages as you'd like but you'll pay the same price. If you have a TiVo Package and buy a box retail, that box will qualify for MSD at $6.95.
If you're talking about a promo where you can get the box for $30 with $12.95 service, I believe the service is $12.95 for a year and also not eligible for MSD.

I forgot to add that I currently have a series2 with the lifetime sub. So does anyone know what the series2 dt will cost me up front and what my monthly costs would be?

If you go to a retailer and buy a box, it will cost you the price of the box, minus rebate, and $6.95/month for that box.
If you buy it from tivo.com, it will cost you $30, plus $16.95, $18.95, or $19.95/month respective to your committment. After the 3, 2, or 1 years, the box from tivo.com will also qualify for MSD at $6.95/month.
Just depends on whether you'd like to pay off the box right away. :)

From the terms, the offer has expired. But it does seem possible to bring it through checkout.
Under this deal, you pay the package price of $30 for the box, and $12.95/month for one year and then it also qualifies for MSD at $6.95 (thanks alan).

I just bought a DT last week, using the baseball link above, and it arrived at my house Thursday.

If your first TiVo has a regular paying subscription it would qualify for MSD once you purchased the S2 DT.

I did a bit more digging and it looks like the best current deal on a second DT series 2 is from Circuit City. Using the 10% of coupon listed on this forum and using the 150 rebate the box price comes out to 54.58 and with 12 mos at 6.95 my first year cost is 137.98.
With the "baseball" coupon through tivo my 1st year cost would be 185.40 not including shipping and tax if there is any.
Thanks for the info

You aren't factoring in that your first box would drop to $6.95 in the baseball link scenario.

I've been interested in this "baseball" deal as well. I have a 40 hour box that is currently on MSD that I'd love to replace with an S2 DT. My other is an 80 hour S2 which I'm 7 months into on my year contract at $12.95 per month. If this deal lasts a little longer I'll probably make the jump.

Wow, the baseball deal is great. I've currently got a S2 at $12.95 and another S2 at 6.95 prepaid for another 18 months (free box with $155 service). Sounds like, if I can stand to put up with the faults of tivo's for another 12 months, that I should sell my current 40 hour Single tuner on ebay. Should make about $50, making the Dual tuner box free, and giving me a few extra bucks to apply towards the service.
