Seeing this is my first post here you can probably assume I'm not a VIP... I had a series 2 until I bought and HDTV display and dropped my tivo... and I've also loved the Tivo over the cable DVR/PVR but sorry I'm addicted to HD.

So I was looking forward to the Series 3 release... and I only bought mine from Tivo to the time and effort of driving around town to find a Series 3... so I placed my an order for my Series 3 late afternoon early evening on 12th (orginal invoice/statement states 09/14/2006 / 16:16:46) and payed the next night shipping... I too received the "email" stating mine will ship no later than the 15th (email time stamp Thu, 14 Sep 2006 18:16:57 -0700 (PDT))... and of course free shipping...

Now today... i receive a second invoice/statement... with a few interesting notes... First the third line states "You will be notified via email when your order ships."... Second I'm still playing full price for overnight shipping... and finally the order date has been changed to 09/14/2006 / 16:16:46 basically the same time I received that "Important Information Regarding Your TiVo Store Order"

I'm starting to wonder if I should just put up with poor customer service from the cable company or tivo...

Just to note I really don't mind waiting for my Tivo to ship... I don't have the cable guy scheduled or anything like that... and my next day shipping charge should have been waived but the run around and changing stories... that's another thing.

I don't want to add insult to injury but I ordered mine late last night online through Circuit City, including the 10% off coupon. I have a bunch of other HD DVRs from both Cable and DirecTv and didn't notice the lauch of the S3 until a friendly neighbour inquired if I was getting one now that they were available (answer: you bet I am). Well, I just got an email 2 minutes ago from CC annoucing shipping and tracking number. Should be here tomorrow.

So I guess Tivo sent quite a bit to retaillers and ended up being the poor parent stockwise or people overwhelmingly bought from tivo.com and they're easy to grab only elsewhere right now...

Either way, I feel bad for you...
