Starz free weekend issue

So we set the box to record a few movies and it skipped them. When I looked at the log it said something to the effect that it would not record them because it was available on Starz via and antenna or cable, and I would have to upgrade to Tivo Plus or something like that in order to do so.

Sorry for being a Noob here - but what is this all about?
