I thought I was bad but you whiners take the cake.
All these threats to cancel their Tivo service... bwahahahahaahah. Give me a break.
You are all acting like 2 year olds who had their lolipop taken away from them. It's so upsetting that you'll never use a Tivo product again??? Right.
Just like a 2 year old, when the UPS driver brings you your lolipop you'll sit down in the corner and lap away. All will be forgiven.
I ordered thru the vip link on Tuesday at 3:20 Eastern time. I figured it would take
comcast a week or so to get an appt for the cablecard install so I selected ground shipping for my Tivo.
I hadn't gotten an email by the end of the week so I called Tivo. Was forwarded to the S3 line and spoke to a very nice CSR who said my box had been shipped but it might be a couple of days before I got the email. Note that I was very polite.
Saturday night at 11:30 the shipping notifcation email comes. I take the tracking number and see that it left Texas at 12:30 AM Saturday. delivery scheduled for thursday. Which is perfect since Comcast is scheduled to come on Friday.
I've had the Comcast HD dvr since it was introduced. A few more days with it is no big deal.
All you whiners need to get a life. I'm guessing that the CSR's are taking the rudest callers and putting their orders on back order.

I'd be just fine too, if I would get a shipping notice for my OVERNIGHT order!! Congratulations on a smooth transaction - most of us didn't get that.

Me either. No second confirmation, nothing. This is absolutely wrong that those that ordered on wednesday or later have gotten all this info while those of us that ordered tuesday with overnight shipping are on supposed "back order". People need to be fired over this.

well the thing is, they should have AT LEAST let us cancel our orders. once again. they are essentially making us receive something we don't want.

Nice.
Comparing a few day delay on your cunsumer electronics device and the inability to cancel your order to rape.
Those Nazi Tivo bastards.
That's next right?
Isn't this typical of what Hitler would do if he was in charge of customer support at Tivo?

Yes, I'm the two-year old with the lollipop. Yes, I'm addicted to TiVo and couldn't imagine life without one. However, there are other DVR's on the market.
I'm upset with TiVo.com's ordering process and cancellation issues. If I could cancel, I wouldn't abandon TiVo. I would buy one from a local store. I can't do that now because I can't cancel the order and will not pay a 15% restocking fee.
I have filed a complaint with the FTC. It's funny that I, a TiVo stockholder, would do such a thing since it will negatively affect TiVo's stock price. Guess what though... this is a violation of federal law to not cancel an order when there is a shipping delay. TiVo needs to realize that.

I look pretty smart for selling my tivo stock a month ago.
The stock is up over 20% in the last month.

I guess I lost out on that move.
Yup. Not as smart as you thought.
Still time to catch the next move. The Dish settlement and/or ruiling on the temp stay of the injunction could come any day.

13. No stock talk - In the past people have tried to influence stock prices either by talking a company down and shorting it or pushing it. This seemed to be their sole purpose at the forum.

I can't do that now because I can't cancel the order and will not pay a 15% restocking fee.I very, very strongly suspect that they will not make you pay a restocking fee in this case, even if that is their normal practice (I don't know if it is).
Guess what though... this is a violation of federal law to not cancel an order when there is a shipping delay. TiVo needs to realize that.I think what they've offered is for customers to refuse shipment, in which case you will pay nothing - this seems to be a reasonable approximation of cancelling the order.

I have never threatened to cancel my TiVo service - not that there would be a point since they are all lifetime - but I am upset. And although I will be very happy when the S3 does eventually arrive, there are some after effects of this that will simply not change. Namely, I will avoid the TiVo Store in the future if at all possible. And, I will do so for the same two reasons that I stop visiting other online stores:
1) They break their promises (ship date, price, processing time etc)
2) Lack of information and/or access to information

In contrast to this, look at my scenario. I ordered 10 minutes after you did (3:30pm EST), and I got the "We received your order" email about a half-hour later. I received the "Orders won't ship until 9/15" e-mail the night of 9/14.
As of this morning - 9/18 - I had not received an order processed e-mail, or an order shipped e-mail. I have called TiVo many times since I got the "delay" e-mail on 9/14 very politely asking for any information they had available on my order. Each time I received nothing. Today they said they show my order has been processed, but that they have no shipping information.
After hanging up the phone this afternoon, I received the order confirmation/processed e-mail. However, I still have not received any shipment/tracking information. I have called many times, and been extremely polite (I know its not the poor CSRs fault), but I still have no access to any real information.
I have no ill will towards TiVo. I'm sure I will love my S3 even more then I love my S2s, and I will continue to reccommend them to people. But I do have some ill will towards the TiVo Store, and I will reccommend that people avoid purchasing things there unless they have to (as was the case initially with VIP and the lifetime transfer).
