I just got a call from my bank asking me about some unusual CC activity. It appears that Tivo decided on Friday to put thru my Lifetime transfer ($199) 4 times. They are telling me it looks like an authorization but I should check my credit card statement to make sure I am not overbilled. In addition they charged me $45 for something..... would that have been for the overnight shipping?

Funny, I just signed on to post the same thing. I have a $45.37 charge on my amex too. Nothing else - I'm one of the people who ordered on Tuesday but still have no confirmation.

I'm wondering if this is their feeble attempt to try and credit the shipping charge but getting it backwards. By the way, the amount is slightly higher than the shipping amount in my (2) email sales receipts. We shall see.

Same here. I ordered Tuesday morning at 10:01 EDT and I just got charged this morning (transaction date of Saturday, post date of Sunday) for just the shipping charges (2-day), although mine are the exact amount quoted in my original order confirmation. No shipping confirmation yet. I checked Amex about 4 hours ago and the charges weren't there then.

I ordered on Tuesday 9/12 at 10:30am ET.

My first mistake was not choosing overnight shipping. I called TiVo and requested my order be changed to have overnight shipping and the phone rep said that they cannot change shipping. He told me he would cancel my order, however, my CC account would have an authorization for $799 on it that would drop in a few days.

That's OK, mistake on my part. Since I didn't have enough credit on that card to order again, I used my other card and reordered with overnight shipping at 11:00am ET.

at 11:06am ET on 9/12 I get two duplicate emails confirmations for the ground order that I thought TiVo cancelled and a confirmation for S3 with the overnight . No problem, I thought, All the billing issues will settle out in a few days.

Now on Thursday in the mutitude of phone calls and runaround with TiVo CSR's over where my S3 is, I find out that:

A.) My one CC that was used on the ground order that was supposed to be cancelled has pending authorizations for $1599.98 (2 TiVos). Also the TiVo rep on Thursday tells me that this order wasn't cancelled on Tuesday, although the order notes show that it was supposed to be.

B.) The CC that the overnight S3 is on shows a pending authorization for $927.28
(927.28 - 799.99 = 127.29 Shipping!!!!!!)

Today is Monday 9/18 and I have yet to receive any new order confirmation, or shipping notification. My CC's still show all of the authorizations. My one cc is now over limit if the $1599.98 actually posts.

My major concern is that some day this week, I will have 3 S3 units sitting on my front porch, credit cards charged for amounts that shouldn't be, and possibly over limit fees.

All I want is the 1 S3 I ordered by following the rules set forth by TiVo on the VIP site on 9/12/2006.

The worst part of it all is that if I avoided ordering from TiVo.com, all of this could have been avoided, Would have purchased my S3 at BB and saved money. I wouldn't have had to cancel my Cable card install, and still would have gotten my LT transfer.

I'm wondering if this is their feeble attempt to try and credit the shipping charge but getting it backwards. Don't knock it! Maybe instead of giving you free shipping, they'll give you the box for free!

I received a similar call from my CC company last Tuesday when there were two holds for in excess of $800. I had initially ordered from TiVo.com, but cancelled when I realized I had ordered from the VIP page for Lifetime Subbers (I don't have lifetime). I immediately cancelled that order (within, like, 15 minutes and had no problem doing) then ordered my S3 from Circuit City (and received it Thursday). I'm glad they do monitor this, though.
