Referral Credits

Hey,

I usually lurk around here and read topics. But this is the first time I've registered/posted.

I got in on the accomodation deal awhile back for a S2 single tuner for $83.40 with/year of service.

I got a couple friends to get the units also. However, I have yet to recieve credit. I got them to order them around August 9th or 10th or so.

I was wondering how long it takes for these types of credits? Is it longer because it is a special pre-activated offer?

I bought a pre-activated refurb and used my friend as a referral. The CSR told him he would have to wait 30 days for the points. Long enough for the 30-day return period to expire.

Just last week, this friend bought himself another Tivo on eBay and used me as a referral. I had the points the same day he activated it.

I don't know about stupid. Just Tivo covering their butts. Wisely, I may add. I've been trying to return that damn Tivo for months now. But that is another story.

wel, if they did it for store bought units also, that would be wise. It is stupid that they are just doing it for "pre-activated" units, thats my comment. I am still waiting on my rewards points from a august 11th activation

I can't answer the poll because there were five different times I made referrals for which I never received credit. So, my answer is undefined. :)

If you believe you should have received points, you can request credit for a referral. You have up to 60 days from the time your friend activates the TiVo service to claim credit for the referral.

Not for those. I emailed support about 2 years ago (still have the email in My Documents), but never got a reply after the automated one. I've gotten something like 80K worth of referrals but for some reason, it doesn't always work for my account.
