1) Can I upgrade a 300-hour TiVo® Series3™ HD
Digital Media Recorder with a larger Hard drive?
2) How big a hard drive can you go?
3) Would I use the same procedure as I used to upgrade a 540040 to a 320GB Drive?

1) Yes
2) 750Gb
3) Probably ... assuming that you can get the CD to recognize the SATA controller or you use a couple of PATA to SATA adpaters ...
The only people claiming success so far is weaknees ...
since S3 ships with a 250gb SATA and the largest SATA is 750gb, the most you will do is tripple the capacity ...
However, with the standard capacity is around 300hrs SD and 30hrs HD ...
with a 750gb drive, you can get to around 950hrs SD / 100hrs HD
but eitherway ... go look at http://ptvupgrade.com
