Hello,
I have a set of Monster THX Certified High Definition component video cables that were originally intended for a high definition tv. However, I don't have HD right now, so I was wondering if they would help with my tivo? Would they make a difference in video quality or am I better off selling them on ebay?
Thanks

Monster Cables are overpriced crap. If you can find a sucker to take them off your hands at a high price, do so.
Also, I don't think the series 2 has component outputs.

Series 2 Tivos do not have component outputs. Only composite and s-video.

unless its one of the models (toshiba, pioneer, humax, IIRC) that includes a DVD or DVD-RW drive, which do have optical and component outputs.

There's no point to using such cables with the Series2. The Series2 is not an HDTV box.
(The Series3 is Tivo's HD box.)

As you have probably read by now there are no component outs on the tivo. Sell the cables on E-bay but hold out for a good price Monster's are as good or better then some of their higer priced competition. Those in the know will pay a fair price for them.

There are higher priced cables that Monster?
LOL!
You must work for Monster or sell them.
Unbelivably overpriced and no better than the vast majority of quality cable.

"Those in the know" won't waste money on them in the first place.

I am still dumbstruck that I saw three 'grades' of Monster HDMI cables at Best Buy. It is digital. Either the bits make it through, or their don't.
I love the blind tests some sites have done where they compare some of the INSANE speaker wire out there ("We hand massage the atoms into alignment and then seal the cable in a nitrogen sheath for the best sound quality.") with stuff like off the shelf sirt cheap electric wire from Home Depot - and stump snooty audiophiles who can't hear any difference. Or pick the cheap wire.
Some of the high end speaker companies actually use cheap copper power line at tradeshows, etc, because it is more rugged and less likely to be damaged in the environment.
If it carries the signal without a lot of loss, it is fine.

If you connect them properly, the component cables can be used as composite. However, you'd get no benefit.
