Hello all! Here's what I would like to do:
I'm leaving town for about two months. I have several programs on my season pass that will be recorded while I'm gone. I don't believe the programs will fill my TiVo but to prevent any of the programs from being deleted to make room, I'd like to access my TiVo from the internet and have it transfer some of the programs to my computer. Is this possible?

Well, you can set up a VPN on your home network (or remote desktop on your PC) and use that to pull programs from your TiVo to your local computer...

Can you use Tivotogo to automatically transfer the series you record and set the season pass to only keep only one episode so the that the Tivo box deletes it quickly?

I think the latest TiVo Desktop had auto-download functionality, but I haven't managed to get it working on my PC, so I use Galleon. In Galleon it's easy to do exactly what you want.

tv harmony autopilot will also perform a similar function for you (with the options of transcoding to another format, i.e. ipod video, psp, etc)

The current version of TVHarmony AutoPilot is 1.0 Beta 1, v16 and will expire on 10/1/06.
Wouldn't that present a problem? :)

Would you be able to set the season passes to record at a lower quality setting for the time being? They'd be sure to take up less space on the hard drive.
