First off I have a Phillips HDR212 series 1 running 3.0-01-1-000
I'm trying to get always on Serial setup and can't seem to get it right. I can change the dial out string to ,#211 and connect to get updates and telnet in during that call-in process so I know the serial connection works just fine.
I followed the instructions floating around about getting 3.0 to work over dedicated internet as a serial ppp connection but the tivo never successfully starts a ppp session on its own.
Looking at /var/log/messages I get the following error that seems to state the /dev/cua3 somehow isn't liked. Any suggestions?
Sep 16 16:54:25 (none) pppd[1878]: the device name may not be changed in /etc/ppp-options.cua3
Incedentally the first line of /etc/ppp-options.cua3 is in fact :
/dev/cua3
Will custpppd work ok using just /dev/ttyS3 ?
*edit* nm I changed the first line to reflect /dev/ttyS3 and in 59 seconds it restarted and works like a charm
Thanks in advance
Paul
