Recently my TiVo start to make a strange noise.
It would become stuck at the "Welcome. Powering Up" screen.
The noise sounded like an HDD problem, so I opened the TiVo.
Sure enough, the noise was coming from the HDD.
I'd like to avoid purchasing a new TiVo by installing a new HDD.
Would I need anything to be installed on the HDD before I put it into the TiVo?
I have never really worked with TiVo's before, so please go easy on me.
I do have previous hardware and Linux knowledge however.
Please reply as soon as possible.
