I am a beginner for anything other than using Tivo out of the box. Lately, I am traveling a lot. Knowing the extent of the Tivo community, I figured it would be easy to find information on how to access programs while on the road. I have searched extensively and found nothing obvious to let me download and watch shows from a remote location. I assumed a few firewall settings to forward the correct ports would work but I guess not. My configuration is fairly standard with a networked Tivo Series 2 behind a router/firewall on a broadband connection. I can easily update the firewall settings and am not worried about the dynamic IP because it seldom changes. I am also very familiar with Linux/unix systems though never tried to get on the tivo (not enough time and my wife threatened to kill me if I broke it ;) Any suggestions?
