Since this board hosts most of my favorite most passionate subscribers, I figured I should post here, too -- not just in the TiVo newsletter... Especially w/ s3 news hogging up all of the attention! ;)

It's time to party, people. I need to celebrate my new knee one of these days... by the 30th, I'm hoping to be walking without crutches, so maybe you can invite me to YOUR party (especially if you live in SF, CA)! :) :)

Special programming...
Exclusive offers...
Groovy party ideas....

One final reminder...

The TiVo Tasting House Party is now underway, but it's not too late for you to join the fun!

While the actual parties -- held in the homes of passionate TiVo subscribers across the country -- will take place on September 30th, the action starts today on the free TiVo Tasting Party website at www.houseparty.com/tivotasting.

TiVo hosts will be able to give their guests a "taste" of TiVo by sharing special programming, fun party gifts and an outstanding new subscriber offer. It's fun, easy, and only for members of the TiVo Tasting House Party!

To apply to host your own party, go to the TiVo Tasting House Party website at http://www.houseparty.com/tivotasting and follow the "click here to apply" link at the top of the page.

Hiya Shanan!!

I started a thread in the TiVo Community Meets forum and I haven't scared up many other party hosts. But I'm definitely looking forward to my party! I've already started sending out invites for live and virtual guests.

(See my sig for the link to the thread in the Meets forum.) :)

Could I just invite you to my house? I'm sure I could muster up some chips and dip and call it a party?

:D

Great, you go, Allie! Too bad you live too far away for me to crash!

Someone in the bay area MUST be hosting something... ???

And ZombiE, I like my appetizer fresh & hot, so the Diva in me demands ONLY homemade tortilla chips & salsa. Extra salt. YUM.

I am intrigued by the "outstanding new subscriber offer" TiVoShanan mentioned. :)

Shanan, you can be a "virtual guest" at my party. I need to figure out a theme. I'm thinking "antennae." It works for the TiVo Guy, and it worked for me in high school, right? :o :D

LOVE IT.

Hey -- if you have a webcam, we can absolutely "beam" me in! :)

I have a Macintosh with a built-in iSight camera. Someone has to help me figure out how to turn that into a video chat or something!!

What does a TiVo taste like, anyway?

I would think that it would have a bit of a metallic taste.

I think it's only fitting that sallypnut host a party so that she can officically welcome TiVoShanan into the bionic hottie fold!

Still no local invite for TiVoShanan??

Shanan, those Bay Area folks are slackers. Tell your boss you need a plane ticket to Virginia. :D

I'm intrigued by the concept. I signed up to be a host before all of the S3 debacles got started.

Laughably, like a few other things that seems to be happening at Tivo lately (sorry, I can't resist the dig), even though the email auto-responder from the site said I'd know by September 9th if I was "chosen"...well, imagine my surprise after writing it off when the 9th came and went...and the 10th...and the 11th...etc., etc., and then I got an email on the 14th that said I was "in". Must've been a shipping snafu in the mail servers :D

So now I'm torn.

I love my series 2's, I'm torqued about the S3 and everything to do with it, but since I'm always looking for a good excuse to have a party, I may have one anyway. I'm really into showing off the features, especially the networking capabilities of the S2's, but since those aren't available on the S3's at this point...are all of the features and offers going to be targeted at the S3's? Not that I'd blame you if it were pure S3 hype, but I don't want to feel like I'm "bait & switching" my friends if I hype them on features and toys that aren't available in what's going to be promo'd to them via the offers.

It also doesn't make sense that I have to lock in the "special" content to just 1 TSN...is there any way to change that? I've got a decent sized house, and there are five tivos all throughout three different levels of it, and people might be on any of those levels at any given time. Granted, I don't see people hanging out in our bedroom or that Tivo or anything, but it's quite possible that they'd be in our living room on the main level, or by the bar/pool table/big screen in the basement, or in the front room hanging out, etc.

Is it possible to have whatever it is you're looking to hype attached to more than one TSN?

Don't tell me nobody in the Bay Area is having a House Party?

I actually don't know for sure. Unless someone at TiVo knows and tells us here, we'll just have to wait and see if the special content is transferrable.

Well, my assumption is that it won't be...most, if not all, of the "special" content that downloads isn't transferrable between systems. Hopefully they can unlock this promo stuff, though, it'd be a shame for it to be available only in one room and then have the party evolve in such a way that nobody's in that room...

So, Shanan, how did you finally choose your parties?

Should be a fun. A friend of mine is making a TiVo cake, and we'll have TiVo Scrabble available for folks to play. All TiVo related words score quadruple! :).
