Have searched the forum but cannot seem to find anything on this particular problem.

We have just connected our Series 2 TiVo to Dishnet. When we initially went through the setup process we had multiple problems, from connecting to our phone lines to the TiVo just freezing. After numerous troubleshooting efforts where we unplugged the phone cord and the tv cable and waited 15 seconds we finally got it to complete the set-up process.

Everything seemed fine until we went to Guide and find that no programming has been downloaded to the Guide. Checking the status of the last connection it says that the connection completed. We have gone through the program setup numerous times each time with the Guide showing "The TIVO DVR does not have any information about the channels" and when checking "Settings" it shows that the download was successful.

So no programs in the Guide and no programs to select for recording. We have spent hours on this, am hoping that someone can come up with possible solutions.

Thanks very much!

By the way, I have 3 other TiVo's connected to Dishnet in the house and they are working fine and I do have a noise filter on. This unit was working with no problem     until now when we removed it from cable and switched it over to Dishnet.

Did you wait 8 hours after completing guided setup, and still no programming?

Yes, it has been 10 hours. Thanks for the suggestion.

How often has it been crashing / freezing? It might be a hard drive issue.

Try forcing another call too (without going through guided setup again)

I have not thought of it being a crash. I can access my previously recorded programs in "Now Playing", I can access "Messages and Settings." I can watch "Live TV", I just do not have any channel or program information showing under the Guide now are there any programs to access for recording.

It seems to be going through the channel download information but there is nothing downloaded when it is completed.

I have forced another call without going through the setup and the results are the same. It shows that the connection succeeded but there are still no programs.

I suspect it has something to do with the channel setup during the guided setup.

It asked if our Local channels are in low numbers which they are and we answered as such however the program kept testing for lower numbered channels that we do not recieve along with the ones that we do receive. I thought we had worked our way through the issue but now that there are no programs or channels showing I think not.

I just cannot gigure out what we are doing wrong in the channel setup during the guided setup.

Did you fix the problem and if so, how? I am having the same problem. Thanks

Sorry, I was unable to find a fix. We literally spent days trying to fix the problem with Tivo Technical Support, trying different things to no avail.

Tivo Tech support insists that it is a hard drive failure. Ouch that hurts as it was a 200 hour plus hard drive!
