TiVotion

I'm sure this has been asked before, just can't find it.
Let's say I set up a wish list on the S3. I really want the S3 to record from the HD channel, when 2 channels are available - one analog, one HD, whenever possible. So when a match is found, I want TiVo to use the HD version of the channel.
It's my understanding that in order to do this, I could go through my list of high definition channels and then under "Channels You Receive", I could de-select the analog versions of those channels. Is that correct? Should I do that in all cases? For example, I get the regular version of local channel 8 (local NBC affiliate) on cable channel (8), and the HD version of local channel 8 on cable channel (608). Is there ever a drawback to doing this?
For specifically requested recordings or season passes I guess this wouldn't be an issue - I simply schedule them on the HD version of the channel. But in the case of wish lists, just wondering if this is the best way to go.
