Just wondering, will the other brands (Humax, etc...) will also be making s3 units, or will it be just the Tivo branded one that we now?

Still hoping Sony wil start making Tivos again, i know it won't happen...

TiVo only for now. In fact all of their "partners" have discountinued their TiVo products over the years. (i.e. Philips, Sony, Pioneer, Toshiba & Humax) So it seems the only one you can count on to make TiVos is TiVo themselves.
