Hello.

Like many people I ordered my Series 3 from TiVo on Tuesday and the website stated that they would start shipping within 48 hours. I haven't received any other emails on the status of the order and I cannot find any page to check order status on the main TiVo website.

Has anyone received any information from TiVo regarding their order status?

Has anyone received a Series 3 ordered from TiVo?

Thanks.

I would imagine the shipping company will make one pickup in the afternoon (local time) today and deliver overnight tomorrow.

If you want the tracking number you will have to call TiVo. I wouldn't count on getting the tracking information right away.

Discussed in detail HERE (http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb/showthread.php?t=316325) .

I called TivoBuy about an hour ago looking for a tracking number. I was told orders from 9/12 were being shipped today and they did not have the tracking numbers. Since I ordered 2-day, I asked if I could call tomorrow and get a tracking number, in a not very assuring voice she said "...you can try." I just hope they go out today!

My experience in buying with the tivo store is the product typically shows up before the tracking number. As it is, I won't see my S3 until Monday so I'll start to get worried when it doesn't show up.

Also, if you look under your account on tivo.com and you see the new box listed, you will atleast know its getting ready to ship if not already.

If you already have a Tivo.com account and bought the S3 using the same email address, they will add the box to your account about the same time it is shipped. Atleast that is how it always worked with S2 boxes.

Ok so when they ship I will see the new box on my account.

I thought it would be there now.

So anyone see it in their account screen? I don't.

My guess is that that would only work for the units that were purchased with the service bundles (i.e. not the VIP site).

If you bought it from the VIP site, it probably won't be added until you log in and activate the service.

Well, I should of been more clear. I don't think the account updates happen instantly, so whenever they do their round of updates, it will show on your account. However, in the past, when you saw the box on your account, then you knew it had been shipped atleast.

Hi - I just spoke with TiVo Sales Department and with my order number that was emailed to me I was able to confirm my S3 was shipped today, one day shipping. He also said they probably wouldn't get a tracking number until after I had received the package. I made the purchase about 4pm EST on Tuesday. Anyway, sick day tomorrow for sure.

Ha. Thats helpful :)

Anyway, it sounds like TiVo is using a different company for shipping the S3 boxes than the one used to ship the S2s. I recently ordered another S2 and they gave me the tracking number right after it was shipped.

I've just had a very similar conversation except mine was listed to be shipped today but they could not tell if the shipping had actually occurred.

Same thing here. The CSR reported mine was "scheduled to ship today." Guess I'll know for sure tomorrow... I places my order before 8:00 AM PDT on Tuesday for next-day shipping.

This guy said it had definitely shipped. Time Warner Cable in Brooklyn are (supposedly) coming on Monday with two cable cards, so I hope he's right.

I called around 1:45 today (Thursday) and talked to a woman so clueless that she thought no brick & mortar stores actually had units yet and that Tuesday's order was a "pre-order" and I'd get mine on Monday or Tuesday, before any store had them.

I rapidly abandoned her for her supervisor, "Chuck":

Chuck claimed all orders placed on Tuesday had already shipped today.
I asked if they had all shipped in time for UPS to deliver on time. Chuck said they had.
Since I paid for 2-day, I asked if TiVo had paid UPS for Saturday deliveries. Chuck said Tivo had not. Thus, my box won't be here until at least Monday, and I suspect it'll actually be Tuesday, fully a week after people were buying them in stores.

This is pretty poor service. I'm really upset at pretty much every aspect of how TiVo has handled this release. I can only hope the box itself won't be as disappointing, other than the obvious lack of MRV/TTG/TTCB/eSATA.

Yeah, my hope is when it finally arrives and gets carded, all these bad memories will be washed away in a sea of HD televisory bliss.

The thing that has been bugging me all day is that I could have waited a few more days, paid an additional $29.99 at Best Buy, and got a guaranteed 4-years extended warranty.

With Circuit City, would have cost more for the extended warranty, but would have gotten 5 years. 5 years of protection!

Feel now that I really messed up. My fault. And I still don't have the box yet.

Actually, if Best Buy gets them locally on 9/17 as originally stated, the lack of shipping cost would have paid for the 4-years of protection. Experience shows that a DVR is gonna break eventually.

Anyone know of any way to get an extended warranty on a tivo.com purchased box?

Ah well ...

I don't know about extended warranties, but TiVo has always replaced boxes for me that failed whether in warranty or not for little or no charge. (It has only happened twice in 7 years, so I don't know if my experience is typical or not.)
