I am far from being a newbie to TiVo... having owned at least one since about 1999. However, yesterday I received my dual tuner 80 hour machine and I am loving it! It's been nearly two years since we've had DirectTV and the ability for dual tuners on our TiVos and I've sorely missed it. I've had it on my computer, but MCE (as nice as it is) just doesn't compare with TiVo's feature set.
My favorite feature has got to be the MRV. I've been transferring converted files to my TiVo for awhile now, but the convenience of having two Series 2 boxes on the same wired network just can't be beat. I'm only sorry that I waited this long to buy a DT TiVo.
Some may complain about various TiVo shortcomings, but I just wanted to profess my renewed love and dedication to the TiVolution :)

Can you say more about that. I'm drawing a blank on "MRV".

MRV = Multi Room Viewing. The ability to transfer shows from one Tivo to another over a home network, alwoing a show recorded in the Family room to be watched on the bedroom Tivo for instance.

I want to get a DT myself, but I'm waiting to see if Tivo's next software update fixes my very slow guide and menu speed. The longer it takes them the less inclined I am to buy one. I can't give a company more money with a partially crippled Series 2.
Are your menus and guide slow? Does it seem slow to you or are you zipping through the guides and menu's?

The DTs don't suffer from the same slowness as the other models. There are times when it can be slow loading the ToDo list or Now Playing list, but the problems are much less visible on the DT compared to the DVD or 540 units.

Zombie,
My menus are not slow... they actually seem faster than my original series 2.

I completely agree. I've never had two tuners on one box and am mesmerized every time I turn that tv on. I have to check what each tuner is recording.
It's awesome!

Thanks Pete for the clarification. I should've guessed that one.

I also just received my Dual Tuner yesterday. It was an easy setup, except it thought I had channel 2 on my analog cable for some reason. Took me over half an hour to figure out that one (by accident; I gave up, and set my channels, removing channel 2, and then redoing the video setup, it worked just fine.)
Yeah, the MRV is cool. It saw each other right away, and I could view the recorded shows on my Single Tuner.
Maybe related, I did NOT set up any records or Season Passes on my DT yet. When I got up this morning, it was recording something!!! I checked what it was, and it was Curious George, which is on Season Pass on the Single Tuner. How can that be? And yes, the ST was also recording Curious George. Pretty cool, but very unexpected.
One last thing, are you used to both sets of channels (from both tuners) on the same guide yet? I'm not, and I'm not sure my wife is going to like it. I can see why it's needed, but browsing through channels gets confusing. (Yes, we still watch live TV, although usually slightly paused.) I'm not sure what to do about that yet. We subscribe to the lowest cable package, so we don't get the digital local stations (ABC, NBC, etc) that are usually above channel 99. Changing channels one by one (without the guide) is even more confusing.
Any suggestions are welcome.

I'd say either:
1) the DT was recording a suggestion that just happened to hit dead on.
2) someone else in your house snuck in a SP for Curious George without you looking.
