Do Series 3 Owners have to pay full price for digital cable?

The cost difference between analog and digital cable here in Charlotte is about $15. I think that the bulk of the difference is for the set top box rental. Since series 3 owners don't need the cable company set top box shouldn't we get a credit for the monthly set top box fee?

You will save the STB fee, but you may have to pay for cablecards. My local Cableco (cablevision) has them for $1.25/month I believe.
