I understand that this functionality is not currently enabled. However, this is a critical selling point for me with the wife. Does anyone have any ideas as to when it will be enabled on the Series 3?
Thx.

We're working on it. The software for the S3 was well underway before the KidZone project started, so that version of software doesn't have KidZone. But it should be available in a future release. ;)
Glad to hear KidZone is a deciding factor for you and your family! We worked hard on that, it's such a difference from generic parental controls. :D

Do you think it will be months? Weeks? Next year? It is pretty important to me.
Not only is it important but it is probably the only thing that my wife cares about (she's not a huge tv person). The "On Demand" functionality from Comcast is a complete joke. When she tries to navigate to a kids' show (our children are under 5), she has to endure the Comcast advertisements that often include bump and grind, violence, etc., things that I don't want my children to see. My complaints have fallen on deaf ears and I have been dying for an alternative.
However, until it's actually available, I won't be migrating. The MSRP is also too high but that is another story . . .

The FAQ states it should be available later this year. So I doubt you will get anything more concrete than that.

OP:
Are you deciding to retain existing S2s with KidZone in lieu of introducing a non KidZone S3 into the home?

thanks for the answer TiVoPony. A big hangup for my household is that the playroom has an SD H400 in it so we have the TiVo and DVD player in one nice unit.
but within KidZone you can not access the DVD player I understand that this would have been added on work to the core functioning of KidZone and how it lives in the nowplaying list but my kids not being able to pop in a DVD without calling for Dad or Mom to put the code in is a real showstopper for Kidzone which is exactly what I want on that TiVo to keep the kids from vegging on whatever junk is on at the time
