Not sure if this is the right thread to ask this question but here goes.

I have been using video redo for about a year and cutting the commercials out of .tivo files and burning them using Nero. Everything seemed to be working fine. I must have burned about 30 DVD's.

I ran out of DVD's and bought more. The old ones were 8 times and now the new ones are 16 times. My DVD burner is a dual layer 24 times burner. All should go well. But..... now I cannot burn any DVD's The video transcodes to the point I get to burning and the process fails. Interesting point to add is before I tried the new DVD's the iomega (drive manufacturer0 to asked to update the firmware tot he newest version. I have done this before with no problems. So I updated the firmware. This is about when my problems started.

Also the files that I am trying to burn now were downloaded to the PC with the new TiVo Desktop. Wondering if that could be part of the issue. Will have to investigate when I get home with a show that was downloaded with the older version.

Any Ideas????

See if you can reset your burner to the previous firmware. You didn't say what version of Nero you're using, but you can also check compatibility on their web site.

Try burning something else. Perhaps you could take a previous DVD that you made yourself and make a copy with Nero.

You can also tell Nero to burn to an image (*.nrg) which you can mount in Imagedrive to make sure the transcoding part is working.
