My Sony TV has 1 DVI input and no cable card slot. What hardware would I need from Comcast to record 2 HD cable channels and watch a 3rd? I also can receive HD OTA, so will I be able to record 1 OTA and 2 HD Comcast channels simultaneously?

You don't need a CableCard slot -- the CableCard slots are built into the Series3.
The Series3 has HDMI output. DVI and HDMI use compatible video signals, so you'll want a HDMI->DVI video cable. You can order one from monoprice.com for <$15.
From Comcast, you want to call and request two CableCards to plug into your Series3. Reiterate these two CableCards are for a single TV. When Comcast receives their shipment(s) of multistream CableCards in late October or November, you'll only need one CableCard, but until then, you'll want two.

The Series3 can only record two different channels simultaneously - two from Comcast, two from OTA, or one from each. However, you can watch a previous recording while recording two different channels.

If the Series 3 is anything like the HR10-250, it will come packed with HDMI>DVI and HDMI>HDMI cables.

Does anyone know if Insight cable will provide the necessary cable cards for the Series 3 tivo?
I currently have D* and TIVO and I am thinking about switching to cable and the series 3.

Your first question: What will I need to record 2 HD cable channels and watch a 3rd HD cable channel?
You will need 2 cable cards to plug into your Series 3, plus you will need a Comcast digital receiver (to watch the 3rd). Split the cable from the wall, and have one going to the Comcast box, and the other to the TiVo.
Your second question: Will I be able to record 1 OTA and 2 HD Comcast channels simultaneously?
No, If TiVo is your only recording device, you will not be able to record 3 at the same time

The cable card must be supplied by your cable company. It contains their proprietary encryption codes.

Will they only charge you the price for one cable card if you useboth of them for the same device? I just found out Comcast here charges $4.95 for each cable card. The same price they charge for a Comcast HD box(non DVR). I guess they want to make sure they don't lose any income even though they are just giving you a card.
