Hi All:
I'm trying to help a friend hack a phillips dsr 708. I created boot disk using the InstantCake for Series2 DirecTiVo Units (6.2) ISO and have the LBA48 Boot CD from PTVupgrade- have also tried running the zipper script from my linux desktop as well. I get to the point where the zipper script attempts to mount the drive and fails stating that a filesystem type needs to be known in order to mount the disk. Fdisk from a linux environment doesn't show any partitions defined. Do I have to create the partitions first? I'm using a new 80Gb WD drive. I also tried applying the cake image first but when I boot the tivo unit after applying the image I keep getting prompted to plug in a phone line and do not have an option to disable the message.
Please help!!
Thanks in advance.
Rich
