I know they now have their own and I could see them wanting me to buy a new one of theirs

I activated an old one recently. They wanted me to buy a new access card, but didn't complain about activating the Dtivo box.

Which model box? Anyone try to activate a T-60 or DSR6000? Thanks.

Hughes HDVR2 - was activated with them for a few years and hard drive went out - replacing hard drive and reactivating, and now knowing DirectTV they probably will give me problems

I activated a Hughes DVR40 I bought off ebay about 2 months ago. DirecTV made me buy a new Access Card for $20, but otherwise there was no problem activating the unit.

No problem at all reactivating my RCA DVR40 a few weeks ago. I'd last had it hooked up over a year ago.
