I have a Hughes HR10-250 HD DirecTV Tivo that was "upgraded" two years ago in Texas by a really nice guy named Patrick Lynch. He added the following enhancements:

- installed TivoWebPlus Project v1.0
- added 2nd 250GB drive
- enabled Linkysys USB/ethernet adapter
- disabled dial-in and download updates (programming comes ONLY from satellite)

I'd tried to contact Patrick Lynch about upgrading my Tivo by the phone and email address I had from 2+ years ago are no longer valid. Does anyone know how I can to reach Patrick? If not, is there someone locally in SoCal who can help me or would let me pay them to upgrade my Tivo?

My Tivo works pretty well although I'll get TivoWebPlus errors sometimes when I try to set a show to record using TivoWebPlus (problem with 2-tuners?) but all-in-all its worked reliably.

One BIG problem is that I've never been able to figure out how to burn a DVD from the shows I've recorded on my Tivo. Can anyone tell me how to do this with TivoWebPlus v1.0? I've got DVD burners on both my WinXP Pro and Mac OS X laptops as well as DVD burning software as well as a 100Mbps "wired" connection between my Tivo and my computers... Its just a question of how to make it work.

Also, I've noticed that there seems to be a newer version of TivoWebPlus as well as several add-ons which would enhance my HD Tivo experience. Are these upgrades a good idea? What is involved in upgrading my Tivo? I've run and installed hardware and software on Macs and PCs for years but Tivo (Linux?) is foreign to me.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated... Especially from a new TivoCommunity forum member? :)

Thanks!

Don

Welcome BrokerDon.

You might get a lot of insight by taking "forum jump" (just above the box with your post on this page) to the Tivo Upgrade or Tivo Underground forums on this site. A lot of people monitor those who might be able to help with your question.
