Could TiVo be set to launch an S3 TV/movie download service?

- Apple has sent out press invitations to their 'Its Showtime' Event (http://www.ilounge.com/index.php/news/comments/apple-to-hold-showtime-event-on-september-12th/) next Tuesday the 12th where the prevailing wisdom/rumours are that apple will announce a new TV/movie download service.

- The S3 is supposed to launch on the 17th.

- Rumours of an Apple/TiVo deal have been circulating for months.

Could it be that Apple and TiVo will announce a joint TV/downnload service (ie: download to iTunes and then play it through your home network on your TiVo)?

I wonder. I hope?

I think an Apple/TiVo deal is a slam dunk. I'm betting money that it will happen on Tuesday.

I sure hope so. I love the idea of iTunes, and even like the idea of downloading show episodes, and even full-length movies. Music to boot. However, I am not a fan of looking at a 15" LCD on my laptop when I could watch it on the bigscreen.....

Being a fan boy, I'd like to be wrong. ;) I assume Apple (solo) will launch iTunes movies next week - if so I'll be picking up a Mac mini for FrontRow TV output.
