View Full Version : Another OTA question!!

OK I know there have been tons of questions about this, but I need some help. First some background, I have:
UHF OTA antenna
5 LNB dish
HR-10-250
Sony 46E2000 TV

I had basically given up on receiving my local ABC through OTA. It is the only VHF station and I of course have a UHF antenna only. I get about 30 on the signal strength, but it jumps around quite a bit.

So I decide to split the OTA cable and send one cable directly to my sony TV. Interestingly enough, I now get ABC just fine. I get a 65+ signal strength. I know they have different tuners, but why the huge discrepancy? Why would it be that much clearer going straight to the Sony? Are there any simple changes that might help boost the reception for that VHF channel on the Tivo box??
Thanks in advance for any info.

I saw that thread, thanks. I was mainly asking specifically about this VHF issue. The rest of my signals are fine. I would hate to crack my case open for one channel. Is there anything else that might help (ie..FM Trap)?

thanks

thanksWhat antenna do you have? Mine is the Channel Master 4228, which is a UHF antenna, but I can pick up my two local VHF channels as well as the UHF ones. Granted the signal isn't as high as the UHF, but it still works and looks great.

Here's their website that lists their antennas:
