i have tried editing my channel list, but can't seem to shorten the list of channels I see when viewing the guide - for example, I don't want to see any of the 400's when i use the guide.


what do I need to do differently?

While in the guide, hit enter.
This will bring up the guide options screen.
There you can change it to show all channels, channels you receive, or favorite channels.

I have mine set on channels I receive, then I setup the channels I receive to only show the ones I care about.
I.E., could care less about any XM, Sports, Shopping or Religious channels, to name a few.

I go in once a month or so and clean out the extras that DirecTV keeps adding, or readding thinking I care about them.

If you use favorites instead, you won't have to worry about the junk D* keeps adding.
