Series 3 Tivo Commercial

Okay, I woke up this morning and tivo was doing its usual recording of tivo content. One of the commercials was for the series 3 tivo. They never said a price but they are going to offer to transfer your lifetime subscription to your series 3 for 199.00. Did anyone else see these recordings?

Hmmmm, let's see D* got your money, so in order to get lifetime on one with cablecard, somehow it would seem that D* would have to either talk the cable co into letting you have lifetime for free, or D* would have to make some kind of $ transfer to the cable co to compensate them for doing it. Kinda reminds me of when I got rid of my Dodge that had a 100,000 mile drivetrain warranty for a Chevy, didn't have much luck transfering that either. ;)

It might be a good idea to allow dtivo owners to get the lifetime for 199- just as a means of getting us to switch.

Actually, Tivo got your money if you have a DTivo with lifetime. DTV stopped supporting lifetime subs when they took over the DVR service from Tivo. Try calling Tivo and see what they can do for you. Somehow I don't think they'd mind taking business away from DTV.
