7.3 Guide changes?

Ever since the service update (7.3.2 I think?) not only has my Tivo become slower than molasses rolling uphill in January, but when you change channels, the "info guide" stays up MUCH longer than it used to.

Is there a setting to change it back to the way it was?

Or am I limited to either not showing it at all or having to change it to a diff. type

(I'm talking about the big blue "info" banner that fills 1/2 to 2/3 of the screen). It used to sit up there for maybe 3-5 seconds.

now it's more like 5-10 seconds.

This has been posted hundreds of times on these boards in the last weeks since the new update has rolled out.

These are all known issues and common complaints - Slow performance, longer banner display, etc......

Short answer - there is no "fix" or "workaround". It is what it is, at least until the next update that hopefully fixes the problem.

Something is definately changed here, because I too was annoyed by the 6-7 second banner covering the screen when I start playback.

From what I have seen, your need to press right on the control pad while viewing the banner to make it smaller. By doing this and toggling the size it then (and only then) acknowledges the setting you've chosen in the menu on Display->Banner clear quickly. Once you changed the size once, it seems to remember to clear it quickly (3 secs vs 6 secs). (Not sure what happens after a reboot).

Just learned today that using the Info button makes it big again. :rolleyes:

Not sure if it also makes it start to ignore the Clear Banner quickly setting or not.
