My guess would be someone in the distribution chain taking one home before he is supposed to. Wonder if Mark Lamb is his real name?

Just a guess but the understatement (after orange) sort of upscales the product perception.

My first reaction at looking at the series was that it was very reminiscent of packaging concepts used by certain unanmed Cupertino company.

That was exactly my thought as well. The box is very simple and to the point, much like that unnamed company.

Googling "Mark Lamb" and "TiVo" does return some hits, but I imagine it's not his real name or someone passed him the pics.
