Strange. Went in to put some shows on a DVD for my flight tomorow. Instead of the check box to the left of the shows, there was a red circle with a line through it instead. More than half of my shows had these red circles and would not allow me to burn them. What is this about?

Were any of these shows transfered from another Tivo? If so, you can't burn transfered shows due to how the DVD models record is different.

nope. recorded on the humax. clicked on one of the shows and it says it's copyright protected. this is bs. i can't hardly record anything on my humax making it worthless now.

when i went to tivo's site, this is what i found:
Like most television reception equipment, TiVo DVRs recognize Macrovision copy protection technology applied by program providers. This copy protection may be applied to certain limited categories of programming (such as Pay Per View, Video On Demand, DVD or VHS sources) and requires TiVo to respond in a pre-defined manner. Macrovision copy protection rules include:
* Copy Never - This content is not allowed to be recorded by a TiVo DVR.
* 7 Day Unlimited - These programs can be recorded and viewed as many times as you like within 7 days of their original recording date
* 7 Day / 24 Hours - These programs can be stored for up to 7 days but once you begin watching the show, you must complete viewing within 24 hours.
Program providers decide which programs within the limited categories will have Macrovision copy protection. If you believe that you are getting copy protection messages incorrectly (on programs from sources other than the limited categories listed above) please call us and let us know. Questions regarding the use of copy protection on Pay Per View, Video on Demand, DVD or VHS content would be more effectively directed to the copyright holders themselves, not TiVo Customer Support.

all the stuff i'm trying to burn are just regular tv shows. no ppv's or anything like that....

This has come up before - when this happens it is almost always a problem in the source feeding the TiVo erroneously applying the Macrovision flags. What is your source?
Oh - and you won't be able to burn those shows to DVD, ever. There is no way around it.

I'm using the cable box as my source. This is very frustrating.....

Then the problem was with your cable company. (I say "was" because you should think of it as if the cable company corrupted the broadcast signal that your TiVo recorded. Even if you get the cable company to fix that, the data you recorded previously was still corrupted, and there is nothing the cable company can do to uncorrupt the data you recorded in the past.)

has anyone run into this with the cable company? can they actually fix this?
i would imagine if i'm the only person calling about this, they're not gonna do jack.
i'm using Brighthouse for my cable provider. they're a pretty big cable co (roadrunner, etc). i'm suprised i'm having an issue like this.

Try power cycling your cable box first. That's corrected it some of the time.

I've not yet seen this issue (have DTV as my source) and hope I dont. THe ONLY thing my HUmax DVD box does for me is help me to make DVDs to watch in the living room.
Can you maybe copy them off and convert via your ntwork to your pc?

Can you maybe copy them off and convert via your ntwork to your pc?If they're copy protected it usually means TTG is blocked too.
